Recipe: Perfect Aussie BBQ Steaks

Recipe Ingredients:

  • Porterhouse or Scotch fillet steaks
  • Australian Smoky BBQ seasoning


  1. Generously rub the Australian Smoky BBQ seasoning onto the steaks, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow the steaks to marinate for at least an hour to let the flavors develop.
  2. Preheat your grill to high heat until it reaches a red-hot temperature. This is essential for achieving the perfect sear.
  3. Place the seasoned steaks on the grill and cook for approximately 4 to 5 minutes on the first side. This will create a golden brown crust with a slight char.
  4. Flip the steaks over and continue grilling for:
    • 3 to 5 minutes for medium-rare (internal temperature of 55 - 60 degrees Celsius)
    • 5 to 7 minutes for medium (internal temperature of 60 - 65 degrees Celsius)
    • 8 to 10 minutes for medium-well (internal temperature of 66 - 69 degrees Celsius)
  5. Once cooked to your preference, remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a tender and juicy result.
  6. Serve the steaks with your favourite side dishes and enjoy the mouthwatering flavors of an Aussie BBQ right at home.
