Timitch controller uses a air switch to know when the exhaust hood is turned on to activate the gas to start flowing.

The Infresco Timitch Controller is a complete, ready-to-install interlock system designed to deliver a simpler, smarter, and more convenient solution for controlling gas appliances with rangehood ventilation systems.

Supplied as an all-in-one unit, the system includes a gas solenoid valve and an integrated air pressure switch, making installation straightforward and reducing the need for complex setup. The Timitch Controller is engineered to work seamlessly with a wide range of rangehoods models and other approved units.

Smarter, Safer Operation

The Infresco Timitch Controller ensures that gas is only supplied to your appliance when the rangehood is operating, providing a critical safety function for residential environments.

Once installed, the system continuously monitors airflow within the flue:

  • When the rangehood is switched on and operating correctly, the system detects airflow

  • The pressure switch activates automatically

  • The controller energises the solenoid valve

  • Gas is safely released to the appliance for normal operation

If the rangehood is turned off, loses performance, or airflow drops below the required level:

  • The system automatically shuts off the gas supply

  • The solenoid valve closes

  • Preventing gas build-up and ensuring a safer cooking environment

Designed for Ease & Convenience

Unlike traditional interlock systems, the Infresco Timitch Controller is built with the installer and end user in mind:

  • Plug-and-play style setup reduces installation time

  • Clear connection points for fast, error-free installation

  • Compact, integrated design minimises components and clutter

  • Reliable sensing system for consistent performance

This makes it an ideal choice for both professional installers and residential applications where simplicity matters.

Flexible Compatibility

The system is suitable for use with:

  • Alfresco rangehoods

Due to differences in rangehood design and installation conditions, compatibility should always be confirmed by a licensed installer or gas professional.

Compliance & Application

The Infresco Timitch Controller is typically installed with approved gas barbecues fitted with flame failure devices, most commonly in:

  • Alfresco areas

  • Outdoor kitchens

  • Covered entertaining spaces

It plays a key role in helping meet modern gas safety and ventilation requirements across Australia.

Note:
All installations must comply with relevant state and national regulations. Requirements may vary between jurisdictions, so always confirm compliance with local authorities.

SPECIFICATIONS

-Contains a EASY to install wired air switch control box (Must be installed by an Authorised Person)
- Includes the Solenoid 1/2 inch connection

The gas SOLENOID valve need to be connected by an electrician with a positive, negative and earth from the exhaust hood interlocking control box down to the location of gas solenoid valve in close proximity to the gas isolation valve.

This allows the exhaust hood to be on and extracting fumes and the FAN air pressue then allows the solenoid to open and allow the gas to follow into the BBQ

The gas solenoid valve supplied must be in the gas supply piping to the gas appliance. Once installed, and connected to the controller, the solenoid valve will be energised, allowing gas to flow only when the Exhaust hood fan is operating.

The Timitch interlocking controller is a unique air switch device designed to measure air pressure. It can sense when the motors on an exhaust hood/range hood are on, which then activates a relay that sends power down to the solenoid.

To have an indoor barbecue, you need to have the BBQ and exhaust hood working together as a system to extract the fumes out of the room while the barbecue is working. That’s why an interlock system is created using our Timitch controller. It won’t let any gas into the barbecue unless the exhaust hood is on.

Please note that the barbecue must be correctly installed by a licenced plumber into the gas line with the isolation valve. The solenoid must be connected by a qualified electrician who connects this via a wire concealed in the wall cavity. Please ensure that your electrician correctly adjusts the air switch pressure so that the interlocking system is triggered by the fan of the exhaust hood. This allows for the lights on the Exhaust hood to remain on or off as required without shutting down the BBQ.

And that’s how the interlock system works on the exhaust hood. It will make it safe for you to have an enclosed alfresco room with an indoor barbecue that is compliant with state gas laws.
